Computer Memory

Computer memory is a hardware device, and it has to collect all the data and applications that are processed in a pc. Primary Memory

A computer memory that is accessed directly by the CPU is called Primary memory. Another name of primary memory is main memory. 

It only runs the data on which user is working currently. It has limited memory. That’s why it can’t sustain the data once the power is switched off. Furthermore, it comprises two memory parts, namely RAM and ROM.

 

Secondary Memory

External memory is another name of secondary memory. These desktop memory drives save data permanently. Secondary memory transfers the information to the main memory because primary memory is where the CPU collects information. Secondary memory is non-volatile as it doesn’t lose any data even when power is switched off.
